USE OF COOKIES

A cookie is a very small text file that a Web site saves to your device's hard disk to store information that you provide about yourself or to store your preferences. If you visit the website again, it is recognised as a repeat visit by means of the cookie. The cookie contains merely a unique number and therefore no personal data. The cookie cannot be used to identify you on websites of third parties.

It is possible to configure your web browser to refuse cookies or to be informed if a cookie is set. We refer you to the manual of your web browser. If you have cookies disabled in your browser you may still be able to use the My Insurance Comparison site but may find that certain features of the site do not function and you will not have the benefit of an automatic login.

My Insurance Comparison uses cookies whenever you visit or login to My Insurance Comparison. My Insurance Comparison stores your unique numbers, and creation and expiry dates on your hard disk. This cookie allows you to move from page to page at the site without having to Login in again on each page. My Insurance Comparison uses session and cache cookies to store data on our server that are individually identifiable. These session cookies are deleted from your device when your browser is closed.

My Insurance Comparison also uses cookies to improve the login experience. For example, My Insurance Comparison may store your login details in a cookie that will remain on your device after you log out. This cookie allows you to be automatically logged in the next time you visit My Insurance Comparison. If you are using a public device or do not otherwise want this information to be stored, you can uncheck the "remember me" tick box when you log-in, and this cookie will not be used.

The sites or services you visited may store their own cookies on your device. My Insurance Comparison recommends that you read each site's privacy statement to understand their policies and practices regarding the use of cookies. You have the ability to accept or decline cookies using the settings on your browser. Information for disabling cookies for the following browsers can be found below.

Our third party advertising partner employs a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons), that help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user's device hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages. We do not tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our customers' personally identifiable information.

USE OF PERFORMANCE COOKIES

My Insurance Comparison uses website performance cookies (via Google Analytics and statcounter.com; to review their Privacy Policies) to analyse traffic information such as the pages you visit, the time you spend on the site. The information collected using these cookies cannot track your browsing activity on other websites.

My Insurance Comparison also uses tracking pixels to measure visits to the site from one particular source (e.g. a specific banner or email campaign) and the response rates from these sources. These tracking pixels will not collect your browsing history and are used for website and traffic source performance purposes only.

We use these services in order to increase the efficiency of our websites.

USE OF THIRD PARTY COOKIES

My Insurance Comparison and some of our business partners (e.g., advertisers) place cookies via our site. We have no access to or control over these cookies. These cookies are used to share your audience segments with third parties (advertisers, publishers or social networks) to make adverts more relevant to you. Audience segments are a pool of users that have been grouped together based upon previous web browsing behavior and lifestyle and demographic profiles. By allowing these cookies, you are more likely to get relevant adverts while you visit other sites. Preventing these cookies will not stop adverts but they will be less tailored to your interests. Although these cookies can be used to identify the audience segment you belong to, they will neither contain nor collect any personal identifiable information.
